MargaretVARLEYPassed away peacefully at Springhill Care Home, Accrington on Saturday, September 6. Previously of Merlin Court, Oswaldtwistle, she was 95 years old. Much loved mum of Sheila and Auntie of Kevin, Pauline, Stephen and Malcolm. She left school at 14 to become a weaver and later worked in a local corner shop until Peggy and Jim's daughter Sheila, was born in 1954, whereupon Peggy became a full time mother and housewife. In her 40s, though she enjoyed working part time each week in a local hairdressing salon, shampooing and making drinks. Peggy grey up at Hoyle Bottoms, Oswaldtwistle and attended St Mary's School. Her father died when she was just 4 years old and grew up with her mother, Elsie and her two sisters Mavis & Sheila, She lived in Oswaldtwistle all her life. The family would like to extend a huge appreciation to friends and care staff who, while Peggy was at Merlin Court, added great value to her later years, also to the staff at Springhill Care Home for their kindness.
The funeral will take place on Wednesday, September 24 at St Mary's Church, Oswaldtwistle at 10am followed by committal at Accrington Crematorium at 11.40am.
