JamesHALEIt is with great sadness that we announce the passing of James on Sunday, August 2 aged 89 years.
Father of Phillip Hale and grandfather to Daniel, Joshua and Lucy Hale and a great friend to many.
Jim was born in Great Harwood on January 7, 1937, and had an older brother Norman and a younger sister Brenda.
He loved being outdoors and had a passion for shooting and fishing from an early age.
He worked as a welder throughout his life in Great Harwood and Clayton.
Jim was part of the armed forces and completed his national service in 1960 with the Royal Engineers.
He travelled to Cyprus, Kenya and Bahrain and made many friends and memories whilst also serving his country.
He also had a love for sport especially football and was part of the Great Harwood FC.
He married Joan Whittaker in 1958 and had a son, Phillip.
Jim will be greatly missed by all, and his love for his children, grandchildren and family is something that will be greatly treasured by all.
The funeral service will take place on Tuesday, August 18 at All Saint's Church, Clayton-LeMoors at 10.30am followed by committal at Dill Hall Cemetery.
The family have requested family flowers only; donations are being received to the Maundy Relief.
