GlendaPICKOVERWith great sadness, the family of Glenda Pickover, announce her death on January 16.
Glenda passed peacefully surrounded by her family Glenda was born in Haslingden
where she spent her early years before moving to Oswald Street in Accrington.
During her adult life she worked at Broadloom Carpets then ran two shops on Whalley Road, selling fruit and vegetables as well as sandwiches and hot lunches for local workers. She also worked at Asda and before retirement was a carer for the National Autistic Society, which suited her patient and kind nature. Always on the go, Glenda carried on working part time in her retirement as a passenger assistant, helping children with additional needs travel to school and back.
In her spare time, she was an avid gardener and loved being in nature, enjoying walks with her dog. She also enjoyed cooking, reading and travelling to new places with many trips taken. Glenda was at her happiest when spending time with her family.
She was the beloved mother of Lee, Adele and Beverly and doted on her grandchildren, George, Zachary, Eliza and Freya. Glenda will also be missed by her daughter-in-law, Anja and sons in law, Andrew and Nick.
A celebration of her life will take place on February 6 at 10.20am at Accrington Crematorium. Arrangements: Wolstenholmes. Family flowers only please and donations are received with gratitude for the Residents Fund at Castleford Home for Older People, Clitheroe.
