I knew Dave for the best part of 50 years, from teanagers to state pensioners!

So many happy and fond memories of times shared with a good friend. Times spent with others down at the pub and on holidays.

He displayed such dignity and bravery following his diagnosis. Getting the things done he wanted to do in the time he had left.

He will be very sadly missed.

Rest In Peace Dear Dave.

This is a terrible shock. I knew David for many years when working in the City Solicitor's Department in the Council. Very clever and with a dry sense of humour, he was for many years one of the 'gang' where we would put the world to rights over a pint. It was obvious that he would sprint up the promotion ladder and do greater things. He was a one-off.

My condolences to Christine, Jennifer and his family on this terrible loss.

Dave a dear cousin. Living at different ends of the country as we do we didn’t get the chance to meet up that often so I’m grateful that we were lucky enough to spend some time with you and the family in the last few years and got to know the genuinely kind and lovely man you were with always a story to tell !

So sad to hear, I knew Dave for many years and he was always helpful to me as a new trainee. He was generous with his time and patience. We became friends and went on many 'Wirral Wanders' with Tony Jones and Chris Farrow. RIP Dave and condolences to Chris, Jennifer and his grandchildren. Brian Beattie

Deepest condolences to Christine and family - I was so very saddened to hear of Dave's passing. We worked together for many years at LCC and he was undoubtedly the brightest of us all with a devilish wit, a cheeky smile and George Clooney looks - a great combination! A Legend who'll never be forgotten by anyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. Rest in Peace, Dave.
