It is with great sadness that the family of Mr Thomas Wolfenden, born on 7th June 1930, announces his passing after a long illness, on May 30, at the age of 95. Thomas, of Newchurch Road, Rawtenstall passed away peacefully at home and he leaves sons Ian, and Grahame with his partner Maria, together with many relations and friends.
Born in Rawtenstall, Thomas will be remembered as a kind, intelligent and honest man who was a lecturer in Building Science at Rossendale College of Further Education for 30+ years, enjoyed his retirement for over 40 years and was a dedicated member of Rossendale Male Voice Choir for over 50 years, who loved to travel both abroad and at home with his wife and friends and had many varied interests ranging from reading to country walking, brewing beer and wine to choral singing and had a lifelong love of good food. Thomas was a wonderful husband and father, a good friend to many and will be greatly missed.
The funeral will be held on Monday, June 15 with a Celebration of Life service and cremation at Burnley Crematorium at 10.45am. All welcome to attend. No flowers thank you, donations to Alzheimers Society can be made at the crematorium.
