VeraWIGHTVera Wight, a loving mum, nana and great nana, of Elm Street, Bacup passed away at Barley View Nursing Home, Whitworth, on Wednesday, December 21, aged 98 years. Born in Bacup where she lived all her life, Vera worked in the shoe and slipper industry at Glendale Shoes and finally retired from J&J McLeries. She enjoyed reading, knitting, holidays in England and abroad. Wife of the late Ronald, who died in 1981, she leaves behind her daughter Ann and her husband John, granddaughter Gemma and her husband Simon, grandson Daniel and his wife Sarah, greatgrandchildren Lola, Ollie, Erin, Rosie, Jake and Charlie, sister Mavis and her husband Neville, brothers Jack, Arthur and his wife Jean, nephews, nieces and many friends. A short service will be held at the Chapel of Rest on Wednesday, January 11 at 11.20am followed by cremation at Burnley Crematorium at 12.15pm, conducted by Rev David Bartram.
