Hazel AnneWHITTENOn the first anniversary of her passing, we remember with deep love my mother, Hazel Anne Whitten, who passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on November 23rd, 2024 in Prince Philip Hospital.
We thank God for the time He gave us with my mother. We express thanks for the love and many well wishes received from all my mother's friends and extended family in the U.K., Canada, and the U.S.A. We particularly extend our gratitude to the pastoral care provided by our parish priest, Father Martin Donnelly, V.F., of Our Lady, Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church in Llanelli.
My mother was a strong, selfless and giving woman who was devoted to her family and treasured every moment with her grandchildren Colton (10), and Kilian (2).
Those who knew her will remember her spirit, humour, and the kindness she carried through her struggles. I also cannot forget to comment on her love for the game of Bingo.
Hazel is dearly missed by her son Levi, husband, David, daughter-in-law Halley, and her grandsons Colton and Kilian, as well as by her surviving sisters Ruth, Mavis, Jacqueline, and Mary and extended family and friends in Llanelli, Burry Port, and beyond.
We give thanks for the grace of being at her side in her final days, and we entrust her soul to the mercy of God, praying that she rests in eternal peace with her dear parents Edna and Bill, and her late brothers and sisters.
Forever loved, never forgotten. Until we meet again, Mam.
"I am going to my Father's; and though with great difficulty I am got hither, yet now I do not repent me of all the trouble I have been at to arrive where I am. My sword I give to him that shall succeed me in my pilgrimage, and my courage and skill to him that can get it. My marks and scars I carry with me, to be a witness for me that I have fought His battles who now will be my rewarder.'.... So she passed over, and all the trumpets sounded for her on the other side."
