Prudence (Prue)WHINCUPIt is with great sadness that we announce Prue passed away at Grimsby Princess of Wales Hospital on Thursday 28th August 2025 surrounded by her family. Prue was 81 years of age and had been unwell for a long time. She bore her illnesses with courage and dignity.

Prue will be greatly missed by her family and friends, especially by her daughter Sonja, son David, daughter-in-law Sharon and her grandchildren Katriella and Noah.

A funeral service is to be held at Grimsby Crematorium on Monday 22nd September at 12.45 pm, followed by a celebration of Prue's life at Waltham Windmill Golf Club from 1.45 pm. Anyone who would like to come and pay their respects to Prue is more than welcome.

Family flowers only please but donations can be made in Prue's memory to her favoured charity - Guide Dogs for the Blind and will be received by: - Near & Near Undertakers, The Mews, David Street, Grimsby, DN32 9NN. Telephone (01472) 250150 www.nearandnear.com A box will be available at her funeral.

We have missed you for a long time on the courts and now we will continue to miss you knowing you are free. Prue was a kind and caring person with a warm sense of humour. There are many fond memories of her from her acting in Ann of Green Gables to skiing holidays, and trips to China and Bali. She played in the Quiz League and served on committee for many years. She also helped found the annual Secondary Schools Quiz. There were so many laughs along the way and it was an honour to have known her. Sincere condolences to Sonja, David and all of the family.
