A very good man. Found myself in his office a few too many times, but always fair.
A solid headteacher and a solid man.
Will be sorely missed.

Just learned of his passing. Was heavy at Hillside during my time the (93 -98) and think he was the perfect head. Had the authority to leave us in awe, but connected enough to have a cigarette with the football team, and the empathy to wait with me while I phoned clearing when my a-level results weren't what I expected. A true role model

Just been informed of his passing now. By far the best teacher in Hillside. Firm but always fair. Rip Mr Westrip - Sir. Warren Spencer formerly Smith

Tim Westrip gave me my first job at Hillside School in 1998. It was tough getting a job back then and he got me going in my career. Just learnt of his passing. Very sad. He had a great sense of humour and was always very good to me. David Tuck.

So sad to learn of the passing of Tim Westrip. He was my head at Hillside. Although I found myself 'in his office' probably a bit too often, (no-one to blame but myself as ye would always point out) he was nothing but fair. I even recall a time he even reimbursed me for smoking some of the cigarettes he'd taken from me at break time. Fondly remembered.
