JoanWEBSTERWe are very sad to announce the passing of my cherished Mum, Joan Webster, who died on 10th August 2025 at the Argyle Park at the grand age of 98.
Joan was devoted to her family and was a valued friend and neighbour. Born in Leigh, Lancashire, Joan moved to Southport in 1956 with her husband Frank to run a corner shop on Poplar Street. Later, she worked for many years as a Ward Clerk (Rimington Ward) at Southport General Infirmary, a job she truly loved and fondly remembered, staying on until 65. After this she volunteered at the WRVS in Southport and Formby District General Hospital - Kew.
A service to celebrate Joan's life will be held at West Lancs Crematorium on Monday, 1st September 2025, at 02:00 pm. Following the service, there will be a wake at the Richmond, 234 Scarisbrick New Rd, Southport, PR8 5HL.
Family flowers only please. Any donations in lieu are appreciated and will be made to Freshfields Animal Rescue.
