Alan GeorgeWATSONIt is will great sadness that we announce the passing of Alan George Watson, who passed away peacefully surrounded by his wife and sons on Monday 4th May, 2026 at 80 years old.

Beloved husband of 58 years to Janet. Devoted father to Mark and Andy and father-in-law to Lizzie, and beloved Poppa to his grandson Alfie. Dearly loved brother to Maurice and David.

Alan, Watto, Grumpy, Dad, Poppa Bear will be deeply missed by all his family and friends.

Alan's funeral service will be held at Trent Valley Crematorium on Monday 8th June 2026 at 11:30am.

Following the service, the family warmly invite you to raise a glass and share more memories of Alan at Morley Hayes, Main Road, Morley, Ilkeston, DE7 6QA.

Family request no red to be worn. ( UP THE RAMS )

Family flowers only.

Donations made in lieu will be sent to Cancer research UK & Parkinson's UK

Martin and John Henchcliff, a long and rewarding friendship, Alan took my son John fishing for years and Alan was like a second dad to John, called him caravan because he was always moving,
me and Alan had plenty of banter at Ash-groves, Rykneld and Sutton, we went to Rolls Royce social club for fishing road shows, his massive involvement in the progress of Sutton and Rykneld, thank you for being my friend and the many many laughs we had, you will be sadly missed but will be remembered forever

From Martin and John Henchclff thank you for everything you have given to family , friends and fishing and whole lot more to life , , you looked after my son John taking him fishing for years you called him caravan because he kept moving pegs me and you sat hours at Rykneld Sutton ash groves chatting laughing we went to Royce social club for fishing road shows the list is endless your hard work at Rykneld and Sutton when I sit in all the pegs I will be thinking of you AW
