Irene MaryWATERSPassed away in hospital after a short illness. Aged 95 years. Irene, a fiercely independent woman and a personality whose energy and determination left a lasting impression on those who knew her.
Throughout her life she combined a love of travel with her gift of storytelling, capturing places, people and experiences with warmth and wit, reflecting her curiosity about the world through her sharp, observant mind.
Those who knew Irene will remember her as an unstoppable force, determined, passionate and unapologetically herself. She lived life on her own terms and brought energy, intelligence and character to everything she did. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, readers and all who had the privilege of crossing her path.
Her memory, like her writing will endure forever more.
Service to be held at St Cuthbert's Church, Bedlington. Friday 27th March at 1.15pm. Refreshments following the service at Bedlington Golf Club.
