Shirley JoanVERITYPassed away peacefully at Ward 2, The Florence Nightingale Community Hospital, Derby with her family by her side on Friday 3rd April 2026, aged 90 years.

Much loved wife of the late Peter, mum to Ruth and Joanne, grandma to Hannah and Grace, great grandma of Milainey, mother in law to Paul and Dave, sister to Paul and the late Michael.
Shirley will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

Funeral service to be held in The Barn at Dale Hill Natural Burial Ground, Dale Road, Ockbrook on Monday 27th April 2026 at 12.00 noon.
A service of committal will be held at Markeaton Crematorium, Main Chapel on Tuesday 28th April 2026 at 1.30pm.
All are welcome to attend both services. Casual attire welcome.

Donations if desired are invited for Pancreatic Cancer UK.
These can be made online at www.georgesimnett.co.uk or may be given at the service.

We loved Shirl (and Pete) so much and she was a massive part of our lives. We will miss her charity shop bargains, stories, poems and humour. She was the funniest, kindest most amazing woman and I’m so lucky to have known her xxx
