I remember the first time that I felt the true pain of losing a family member. I remember being absolutely mortified when I heard the news. I remember trying to be strong for my father, my mother, my brother. I remember Barbara Veal every single day. One of the greatest people I have ever met in my life and every day, I feel the hole in my heart every day.

I miss you.

Queen Bee. Didn't realise you would fly away so soon and without me being able to say goodbye properly.

Thank you so much for our happy lunches, our plans to dominate the world of PR, advertising, copywriting and the sense of fun you brought to everything. You made an impression everywhere you went - for me, it was that yellow jacket, black trousers, killer heels and shades. Hence Queen Bee (without the sting). I know how many friends you had, how many people loved you.

It seems ironic that as a writer, I don't have the words to sum you up in a fitting tribute. I wish I'd known you sooner, but I'm glad for every moment. Go create some noise up there.
With lots of love,
Katie xx

Dancing round handbags, planning to get a flat together.....not to be and then we lost touch...20+ years later I found you again and found out you were so poorly. Your positive attitude was amazing and must have seen you through some dark days.
Thank you for coming back into my life albeit so briefly, sleep with the angels, my dear friend.
much love

Nick, such sad news to hear about Barb.
I will never forget her kind heart or her dry wit. Remembering many happy times spent when Barb and I worked together at the Mercury.
Fondest regards,
