A wonderful father to Andrew and Jonathan, and a loving grandfather to his three grandsons. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.

David's funeral will take place on Thursday 2nd July 2026 at 11.30am at Gilroes Crematorium - West Chapel, Groby Road, Leicester, LE3 9QG.

In lieu of flowers, donations are welcome to Rainbows Hospice, using the charity link below.

I was very sorry to hear about your Dad.
I will always remember his deep, booming laugh vibrating through the house, when our parents would get together.

Hi Andrew and Jonathan. I'm so sorry to hear about your dad. He had the best and loudest laugh - and Katharine, Sarah and I would always hear him when he was round having dinner at ours. I remember your dad giving me and Andrew the freshly-minted 20 pence; and a smoke of his pipe! (My memory desperately wants the pipe to be lit but I suspect not.) Thinking of you both.
