Ivan JohnTOWERSIt is with great sadness, the loved ones of Ivan John Towers inform you of his passing, suddenly but peacefully at home on Saturday 4th of June. Ivan Grew up on Wellith Lane, Rochdale and was later a long term resident of Kirkway, Kirkholt. He then moved around a little living in Castleton, Walsden, Waterfoot, and Garstang before moving to Barker Court, Bacup. Cousin to Jean, Valerie, Maxine, Tom and their children and a chosen family member to Diane, Emma, Daniel, Richard and their partners, children and relatives who loved him dearly. A former taxi driver, bus driver and fishman of the pubs in Rochdale, Ivan was a sociable man who had lots of friends, he loved folk music and walking. He was an active member of the local Methodist Churches and enjoyed his day trips with them. Ivan's funeral will be held on Wednesday 29th of June, with a service at Central Methodist Church, Bacup at 2pm led by Revd David Burrows, followed by a committal at Rochdale Crematorium at 3pm and a celebration of Ivan's life at The Rose N Bowl in Bacup from 4pm onwards. Everyone who knew Ivan is welcome to attend all or part of the day. Family flowers only, donations if desired which will go to causes close to Ivan's heart including the Three Owls Bird Sanctuary & Reserve and Millcroft Tea Gardens in Norden. 26th June 2022. I think I went to school at Kirkholt with Ivan. From what I can remember he was a very quiet boy but very funny. Rest in peace Ivan. From a school friend. xx
