Jimmy passed away peacefully on 1st April 2025 aged 87 Years.

Much loved Husband of the late Betty, a kind hearted Dad of Darren & Wayne, a treasured Father-in-law of Michelle, a wonderful Grandad of Ellie and Amelia, and also a treasured Brother of Mavis.

Jimmy will be sadly missed by all of his Family & Friends.

Requiem Mass to be held at The Immaculate Heart of Mary, Lobley Hill, on Tuesday 15th April at 09:15, followed by Cremation at Saltwell Crematorium.

Family flowers only

Donations in lieu to Hospice at Home.

Afterwards, all welcome back to The Highwayman, Whickham Highway to celebrate the life of a true gentleman.

Jimmy 'Jimbo/Jumbo' Thompson, a truly truly fantastic man, you now go and Rest In Peace with your devoted Wife Betty in Heaven.

You Granda Jim and the late Grandma Betty brought so much love and joy to Ellie and Amelia’s lives and I know you both felt so blessed and proud of them both. Deeply saddened by your loss but you are now reunited with Betty.
