FlorenceTHOMPSONof Water Street, Accrington, died peacefully at home after a short illness on Sunday, August 28, aged 84. She leaves behind daughters Gail and Susan, son-in-law Richard, grandchildren Laura-Kay, Rachael and Liam, as well as great-grandchildren Jemima and Sam. Florence was an accomplished dancer, winning many competitions. She also loved foreign holidays - especially cruises - with her late husband Tom and later with her partner Frank. Florence started her working life at Ewbank Hyndburn Road, Accrington. She went on to be a cleaner at many pubs and clubs around Accrington before joining Hyndburn Council as a support worker escorting blind and disabled children to schools around the district for over 40 years. Her funeral will take place on Wednesday, September 14 at 11.45am at Accrington Crematorium, Burnley Road. Family flowers only please; any donations to Pendleside Hospice, Burnley.
