I am a relative but lost touch many years ago. I am glad to have found them now even though most of the older people have now gone. I wish all those still there a long and happy life. Chris Birkbeck, - (Terences' Mother affectionately known as Aunty Kit was my aunt).

When my father Terence Victor George Zarattini died at the age of 83 while at home in the village of Landbeach he left a story of lifelong hard work and generously.
His parents were Earnest who had served in the army in WW1 and was a taxi owner/driver in Cambridge and Catherine a firm Catholic lady.
The earliest photos of Dad were in boxing poses before gaining a scolarship to Mayfield Catholic boarding school , Kent. This is where his determination and ability was able to develop as his school reports showed..
He left to join the Navy in March 1944 and when WW2 ended he returned to Cambridge and started work for Mathew & Son in Trinty Street Cambridge. He later worked for Harvey’s of Bristol and after this started his own company in the early 60s Terence Wines.
By this time he had married Joan Barbara Bradford, who’s family had a small rented farm, at Heath Farm Shelford Bottom.
They had two children Lynn Ann in1950 and Neil Terence 1951.
Because of new business the family moved from their new home in Stapleford to start a boarding house for foreign students in Jesus Lane Cambridge.
I John Paul arrived in January 1961 4 days after my Mother’s birthday.
The business was very successful with stores in 12 county’s and the University’s of Cambridge and Oxford being major customers.
In 1968 we moved to Landbeach buying a chalet bungalow from a staff member who was moving away.
And when I left school in 1979 and joined the family firm all the family were working in Terence Wines.
Over the following years there were many changes and some difficult family situations.
My brother was married and had two children Emma and Julian,Lynn was also married but it fell apart in Spain and she return penniless.
Dad was a very alert business person who work very hard all of his life to secure a safe and happy environment for family and friends.
Terence & Joan celebrated their Golden wedding .
They are now at rest in the garden of Landbeach Church
God bless them.

Mr John Zarattini
