VincentTAYLORMR Vincent Taylor, of Nelson Street, Britannia, Bacup, died in the Royal Blackburn Hospital on Wednesday, January 6 - his birthday - aged 83. A service will be held at the Chapel of Rest on Tuesday, January 19 at 12.10pm, followed by cremation at Burnley at 1pm, conducted by Mr Peter Goulding. Born in Bacup, he lived most of his life in Bacup and Britannia. He began work at Ross Mill, leaving to do two years’ National Service. He worked in the quarries and as a bus driver, and latterly as a lorry driver. He then became the landlord of the Wellington Hotel, known as the ‘Welly’ in Britannia, and was there for 19 years. Vincent enjoyed fishing, sea fishing, and holidays abroad. He was a former member of Bacup Cricket Club and liked watching sport. Husband of the late Eileen, he leaves daughters Lorraine and her husband Peter, Joanne and her partner Mark, grandchildren Simon, Anthony and Hannah, five great-grandchildren, his partner Rita, sisters Jean and Lily, brothers Raymond and Fred, sisters-in-law, brothers-inlaw, nephews, nieces, and many friends.
