Feel so bad that I’ve only just found out about your passing Kev , we would go years without seeing each other and then just catch up as though it was only a month that had passed , I’m gutted that we left it so long this time and didn’t get to see you again , have loads of memories of the crazy times/nights out we had , rest in peace swifty

Kevin ~ we first met in childhood when I was the girl with long auburn hair riding my bike and you were the brown eyed boy with a cheeky smile mouthing even cheekier quips. Later, our paths occasionally crossed at high school, and, once we’d left, you’d call in B&Q on a Saturday, armed with a smile that reached the twinkle in your eyes as you queued at my checkout with all manner of miscellany.

With you having developed a close friendship with my elder brother, Darren, the three of us shared many mishaps, much laughter and made many memories late into the night.

Friendship developed into love with the two of us being each other’s first, and, together, we created a beautiful brown eyed bundle, a daughter who grew up in your physical image. I only wish things had been different, so very different, so that you could have watched her grow and mature into the beautiful woman she is today.

Also, in that, you never got to meet your two beautiful grandchildren, a gorgeous little girl with long blonde ringlets and a gorgeous little boy, a mini Axl Rose with long auburn locks who strongly resembles your side of the family.

Be rest assured, Katie was raised with the knowledge of what was, not the heavy and leaden burdens of hate and contempt. Time and maturity begot only understanding and acceptance for ALL things.

Fate simply proved to have very different ideas to the teenage dreams we'd had and shared.

I was and am truly sorry to hear of your passing, as I was both your dad, Jack, and your mum, Cath ~ we hope you received the bouquet we sent for your mum's final farewell. May you rest in peace with all those you've loved and who've gone before.

Most of all, I'm sorry for the circumstances in which you passed and that any opportunity for reconciliation with Katie has now passed too.

May there be new shoots in the forming of familial ties and bonds with those you've left behind.

With love and fondness for all the happier memories and the good that once was. May your two daughters and five grandchildren prove to be your greatest achievements.

xxx
