EileenSTARKIEIt is with deep sadness that the family of Eileen Starkie, aged 80, announce her passing on Monday, April 18, in hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Eileen was born in Nelson, then made her home in Accrington, and then at Marlowe Avenue, Baxenden. During her life she had various jobs, including working at British Gas, an administrator for the NHS, and finally as the manager of Clitheroe Health Centre. After her retirement, she enjoyed family holidays and socialising, but most of all Eileen loved nothing more than spending time with, and being surrounded by, her family. Eileen sadly leaves behind her husband of 60 years, Frank. She was also a much loved mum to Linda, Deborah, and Gail, a loving grandmother to her grandchildren Kelly, Mark, Jodie, Thea, Joe, and Lauren, and great grandchildren Callum, Chloe, Charlie, Matthew, Isla, Lexi, Holly, Eva, Frayja, and Bee. She will also be very sadly missed by all her loving family and friends. Her funeral service will take place at 11.40am on Friday, May 13, at Accrington Crematorium. Afterwards, memories of Eileen can be shared at The Peel Park Inn, Accrington. Family flowers only please, but donations are welcomed in memory of Eileen for St Anne’s RC Church, Accrington, and may be sent c/o funeral director Hyndburn Funeral Services, Accrington.
