MartynSMITHIt is with the deepest sorrow that the family announces the passing of their dearly beloved Martyn, cherished husband, father, and grandfather, who left us on 28th September at the remarkable age of 90.

Surrounded by his family in his final days, Martyn passed away peacefully at home, as was his wish. His warmth, laughter, and wisdom shaped the lives of everyone he touched. A man whose love for life and those around him was immeasurable, Martyn's passion for cricket and his unwavering spirit will forever be remembered by those who knew him. Martyn leaves behind his beloved wife, children, and grandchildren, all of whom are profoundly grateful for the love, guidance, and dedication he so generously bestowed upon them throughout his life.

A service to celebrate Martyn's extraordinary life will be held on Friday, 1st November 2024 at St Mary's Church, Newent, Gloucestershire, GL18 1AB, at 1pm.

Donations, in memory of Martyn, are for St. Mary's Church, and can be placed on the plate at the end of the service, or Age UK which may be sent directly to the charity.

All enquiries to Ledbury Funeralcare on 01531 632084.

So glad to have met Martyn. He always helped to make me smile. Always made me feel welcome and valued. A real gentleman and family man.
I have lived in six different villages in Yorkshire. Turns out Martyn played on those village cricket pitches against five of them in person. Great stories and very happy memories.
Much love to Alison and all the family at this sad time.

Dearest Alison and family,

My life has been enriched knowing and looking after Martyn. He was a kind, gentle man, with a passion for all things cricket, and of course, his family.

Please accept my most sincere condolences and love at this sad time
