Ronald AlanSIMPSONMr Ron Simpson of Ramsbottom, passed away at Salford Royal Hospital on Saturday 16th January 2021, aged 75. Dearly loved husband of Margaret, much loved dad of George, Andrew and Katy, father-in-law of Leanne, Natasha and Dean, devoted Grandad of Freddie, Tilly and Step-Grandchildren Chloe, Jess and Tom. He is also survived by his cherished four-legged friend, Charlie. Born in Aberdeenshire, Ron worked in the papermaking industry, initially in Aberdeen, before moving to Yorkshire, Birmingham and Lancashire. He became Production Manager at Creams Mill, Little Lever in 1976 and was later appointed Managing Director of Creams Mill and Holcombe Mill, Ramsbottom. Since retiring in 2005, he enjoyed woodturning, car restoration and gardening. He was a keen supporter of Ramsbottom Cricket Club and was honoured to have been made a Life Member. The funeral service and committal will be held at Radcliffe Crematorium on Wednesday 3rd February 2021 at 10.30 a.m. Due to the current situation, the service will be available online by request.
