Tony - the most wonderful man, husband, father neighbour.

We were privileged to live next door to the Sheltons in Leeds. You couldn't wish to have a more wonderful neighbour. Always kind, considerate, warm and full of fun. You could also have a serious and interesting conversation with Tony.

In particular when my brother, Stan and I moved away for work, Tony always popped in to see my father and check he was okay. Which my dad really appreciated. As did we all.

Tony lived in the modern world and played a full role in the city's town planning. As an individual he was a great friend and neighbour - there at no, 23 Chelwood Avenue. He brought the community to life.

He cared for his dear wife Teresa, an example of his true love for her until she left this world.

His soul lives on in Abbie and Matthew, who by their friendship and love have kept us close at this difficult time. Thankyou.

We wish you a long life and celebrate that of Tony and Teresa.

Tony was the best neighbour anyone could wish for when he lived next door to us in Leeds in the 1970s. He helped look after and comfort my father when me and my brother were away-a debt I was never able to repay. When I moved to Windsor with my new family, we exchanged annual Christmas greetings and musings about Leeds United and the state of the world. He was a hugely generous person with a wry sense of humour, a lovely man of immense moral fibre who lived by his socialist principles. I feel sure his humanity lives on in his two beautiful children, Abbie and Matthew.

It was a pleasure to have known Tony, I'll always remember his kindness, advice
(rewriting my application for my 1st teaching job) and his support of Francis throughout his childhood and teenage years. Lovely memories of the annual trips to Abbot Hall with both Teresa and Tonyx
