OwenSHELTONPartner of Kath, widower of Gill, father of Elizabeth, David, Martin and Alison and a much-loved grandfather and great-grandfather, Owen passed away in hospital on 27th July, following a stroke.

Owen was formerly Latin and History teacher at Hastings High School, Burbage, House Head at President Kennedy School, Coventry, Deputy Head at Barr's Hill, and Headteacher at Whitley Abbey until 1992. He touched many lives.

A Thanksgiving and Celebration Service for Owen will take place at St Martin in the Fields Church, Green Lane, Coventry CV3 6EA on Wednesday 20th August at 3pm. Informal dress, no black please and bring an umbrella.

No flowers please, but donations in his memory to Motor Neurone Disease Association may be sent via Grimmett & Timms Funeral Directors, 118 Albany Road, CV5 6NG, 02476674746.

Owen was right up there with the best heads I ever worked for.
He was always approachable and supportive.
Before he came to Whitley Abbey my wife was on the Staff with him at Barr’s Hill and we both enjoyed his company.
We talked football often, and commiserated with each other on the ups and downs - mostly downs - of Peterborough United and Coventry City.
