DelysSENTANCESENTANCE, Delys (née Anyon) 24th April 1943 - 28th June 2025
Peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving daughters, on 28th June 2025, Delys Sentance, aged 82 years.
Delys was born and raised in Oswaldtwistle, attending St Andrew's Primary School and later Rhyddings Secondary School. She worked at Mullards Electrical Company before spending 25 happy years at Marks & Spencer, where she formed many cherished lifelong friendships.
In 1964, Delys married her beloved husband Terry Sentance, and together they shared 50 wonderful years of marriage until his passing shortly after their golden wedding anniversary.
A devoted and loving mum to Deborah Benmore and Paula Taylor, and treasured mother-in-law to Colin Benmore and Peter Taylor. She was a proud nana to her five grandchildren Nathan, Paige, Abbie, Robson and Lucy and a doting great-nana to her six great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored.
Delys also leaves behind her beloved sister Lynn Bolton, her nephew Neil, niece Joanne, and many dear friends who meant so much to her. She will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and deep love for her family. She especially loved hosting family meals and holidays abroad, particularly to Tenerife and Crete.
Delys touched many lives and will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Funeral service to be held on Friday, 18th July 2025 at 12:45pm at Emanuel Parish Church, followed by cremation at Accrington Crematorium, Burnley Road at 1:40pm. Family flowers only please. If desired, donations can be made in Delys's memory to Cancer Research UK or the North West Air Ambulance.
