I knew Tony through working with him on various art projects. I always looked forward to working with him. I remember his curiosity and warmth and his gentle laugh. He was a great artist and collaborator. He will be sorely missed.

Tony was a pivotal person in my life in Hull (1984-87) and again, many years later, when we met up again from the mid noughties on rarer ocassion; talking over art related projects, each other’s, and life in general, always with Tony’s wry incisive takes on things. Such a fine film maker - ‘North’ - and photographer too. But most of all, a fine human being and true original. Very sad news indeed to learn he’s gone. Tom F
