EnidSCANLANIn loving memory of Enid Scanlan who passed away peacefully on 24th February 2024.
Enid, widow of George Scanlan, was very much loved and is survived by her children: Jane, Kay, David and Richard, and her eight grandchildren, who called her Nina: Rebecca, Katie, William, Ellen, Sophie, Lucie, George and Libby: and a newly arrived great granddaughter, Valerie.
Enid was a teacher, committed over a long career to helping all the pupils in her care. She encouraged the potential she saw in everyone.
Enid is fondly remembered by pupils, their families and colleagues at Holy Family High School, Thornton, where she taught until her retirement in the mid 1990s.
The family is grateful for all the memories people have shared with us about Mum, and her impact on so many others.
We thank the wonderful Parkinson's team at the Walton Centre, who have supported Nina for many years. We thank the care and dedication of all the doctors, nursing and palliative care teams from Queenscourt Hospice, the staff at Formby Manor nursing home, Elbow Lane Dental surgery, and the team at Chapel Lane Surgery, Formby. Very special thanks to Debbie and Peter, Francine and Katie for their support of Mum's continuing independence at home.
Enid's Funeral Service will be held at Southport Crematorium at 1pm on Friday 22nd March 2024. Family flowers only please.
We would welcome any donation in memory of Enid to go to Queenscourt Hospice or Parkinson's UK at https://enidscanlan.muchloved.com/
