We are saddened by this news, having known Anne since we first came to Shaftesbury 35 years ago. She and her late husband went out of their way to welcome newcomers to the town. For several years, Michael enjoyed a tennis partnership with her in the annual charity tournament that she initiated. Later, she was our immediate neighbour on Bimport for some years, always cheerful company. always keen to catch up, and a beloved figure around a town most of which became a safe zone for her even as her memory began to challenge her. RIP Annie.
