In Memoriam for Jean ROWE

Six years, (Grand)Mother Dear, since your earthly life ended, but still very much alive and present amongst those who love you.

Remembering once more our dear Jean Rowe, the loveliest person who gave so much and only demanded constant cups of tea in return!

Half a decade now has passed since the saddest of times, but not a day when we don't think of you with love and, always, of laughter.

Another year, My Dear (in authentic Janner accent), but no diminution of your presence. Not a day passes when you escape the minds of your loved ones from Plymouth to Sydney, via Bradford-on-Avon, Cardiff, London, Brisbane and elsewhere. Semper fidelis.

Three years since your earthly life ended in the home that was the mothership for all of us across the generations. But you never feel far away, and I frequently chuckle at sudden memories of some zany moment. That is the light that never goes out.

From the South Pacific (a favourite film of hers) to Plymouth Sound, today - like every day - she isn't so far away. Always close to us in spirit whatever the time and place. Sometimes sadness, of course, but it's mercifully impossible to think of our matriarch without a smile and a word of thanks.
