Gerard EdwardROBERTSIn Loving Memory of Ged

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved brother Ged.

A much-loved dad to Caitlyn and Christy, brother to Anne, Bernie, Daniel, Francis, Paul and Clare. Brother in law, uncle and friend to many. Ged was one of a kind. He was funny, stubborn, fiercely loyal and never afraid to stand up for what he believed in or for the people he cared about. He had a huge heart, a quick wit, and a way of making people laugh, even in the most difficult times. Those who knew him will remember his strength, his generosity and the love he had for his family.

Although our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing that Ged is now reunited with our beloved mum and dad, Danny and Beryl, and our brother, Fran. While that thought brings us some peace, the space he leaves behind in our lives can never be filled.

Ged's funeral service will take place on Thursday 9th July at 1:00 pm at Landican Crematorium.

Following the service, everyone is warmly invited to join the family at The Magazines Pub to celebrate Ged's life. We'd love you to come along, share your memories, tell your stories, raise a glass and remember the man who meant so much to so many.

Family flowers only, please. Ged was a passionate supporter of WaterAid and many other international charitable causes. If you wish to honour his memory, donations to WaterAid would be greatly appreciated in lieu of flowers.

On behalf of all of Ged's family, thank you for the love, kindness and support you've shown us during this incredibly difficult time. It has brought us great comfort. ❤️❤️❤️

Sleep peacefully, Ged. YNWA

You will be loved always, missed beyond words, and remembered forever.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️💔

Ged,
There have been so many beautiful words written about you, and every one of them is true.

When I was just a little girl, you were there for me when I needed you most. You probably never realised just how much that meant to me, but I never forgot it.

When I think back to our younger days , I remember all of us together. Family parties, birthdays, Christmases, celebrations, everyone talking over each other, laughing, a house full of life. Back then, I never imagined there would come a day when those moments would just be memories. They’re memories I’ll treasure forever because they remind me of a time when our whole family was together.

You were a law unto yourself. You never cared much for hierarchy or what anyone expected of you. You lived life on your own terms, answered to no one, and stayed true to yourself. You could be unbelievably stubborn, but you were also funny, fiercely loyal and had the biggest heart.

I’m going to miss all the little things that made you… you. The unanswered WhatsApp messages. The one-word replies that somehow said everything. Your random ramblings in the family chat that would make us laugh, roll our eyes and wonder what on earth you were talking about.

I still can’t believe that in less than two years we’ve lost both you and Fran. I know he came for you that Sunday evening, and that the two of you are back with Mum and Dad, together once more, probably putting the world to rights, and watching over the rest of us. 🙏

Thank you for being my big brother.

Rest easy, Ged.

I love you, and I’ll miss you every day. ❤️
