Deepest sympathy to The Family of Robert “Squirrel”Lester. I have always loved The Chilites. I am 65 years of age, and seen The Chilities in Jacksonville in early 1974. When they were introduced to the audience, I was hypnotized on Squirrel. I loved his voice, his style, also the way he moved. I didn’t know that he had passed. I knew that Eugene Record died in 2005. Rest In Peace, Squirrel.

Type your memory here...Almost four decades ago, I had the honor of meeting and becoming friends with the Chi-Lites. Soon they became family to me and my son. I worked with them as a booking agent and as a publicist for many years. Eugene, Marshall, Squirrel and Red became my big brothers and uncle to my son. I have years of memories to treasure of all of the guys. Marshall, the last man standing, I say STAND!!! God has purpose for you still. Be blessed ...Your Sister, Kathy Way-Giddarie, Miami, Florida

I am a member of a group called The Imperial Wonders and we opened for the Chi-lites at Leo's Casino in Cleveland Ohio Back in the Late 60's. They showed us how a real show was performed. We will miss Squirrel and Eugene.Al Boyd of The Imperial Wonders
