My first memory of Jean is from our first day at Boston High School. We’d just been assigned our classes and she sat, apparently confident, although she was probably as nervous as the rest of us, in the front of the class, blond curls bobbing. Even at that age you noticed Jean, although she never went out of her way to court attention.
Fast forward to the end of 6th form and a rather risqué review we put on in which she played Cinderella to Anne’s Prince Charming. I was Millicent Martin and sang That was the term that was! It was tame by today’s standards, but the head forbade any future reviews! As Patricia Hodge would say: ‘ such fun!’
After school we lost contact, so I was really happy when a reunion was organised and that contact was restored. RIP Jean. You have left so many memories. Thank you. ❤️

Glenyse Hamilton: It was a privilege to have Jean as a friend. In our latter years at Boston High School, we shared the same group of friends outside of school, too. I was witness to the start of her relationship with Neil, leading to her long and happy marriage. Jean had a happy and caring pattern to follow after growing up in her own loving home, along with Kay. If Jean was there, there was fun to be had. Thank you Jean, for being such a dear and wonderful friend.

I first met Jean at Sunday School 70 years ango and later we went to Boston High School at the same time. We have kept in touch over the years at reunions formal and informal and more recently online. Jean was a special friend, always caring, kind and very funny! I will miss her. I send my love to her family and all who mourn her. Rest in Peace my beautiful friend.
