Dear Dad,
Thank you for making me laugh, smile and cry all at different points in our time together.
Thank you for being unique, a Dad who didn't just wear a shirt and tie and go to work and come home boring and lifeless.
Thank you for being someone who wasn't pressured by anyone and what they thought and a person who lived how they wanted.
Thank you for getting up early every weekday morning (apart from the odd Monday in the 80's and 90's!) and working hard, being proud of your work to fund your own life and showing me that its important to always do the work as well as having a laugh.
Thank you for all the holidays and spoiling me, I will treasure them forever not because of money but because you loved spending time with me and putting me first. It was a pleasure to explore with you.
Thank you for giving me an amazing music taste, knowledge and all of those times listening to CD's in your car as a little kid whilst you had a fag on navigating the road, you always did look so cool. Everything I like musically and everything I know started from you.
I am so sad that you are gone and I am so proud that you were and will always be my Dad. I hope you are at peace and pain free and in a much better place. I look forward to one day telling my children about you and how you were and the funny times we had.
I promise to continue to make you proud like I always tried to whilst you were alive with us and every success I have I will think of you.
Your funeral will be the spectacle you always wanted.
Love eternally,
Monkeyboy xxxx
