Dad, I thought of you with love today,
but that is nothing new.
I thought about you yesterday
and days before that, too.

I think of you in silence.
I often speak your name.
All I have are memories
and your picture in a frame.

Your memory is my keepsake,
with which I will never part.
God has you in His keeping,
And I have you in My Heart.

The day left and gained your Wings,
My Heart just broke in two.
I wish you could have stayed with Us,
But Heaven needed You.

I know I cannot bring you back
I wish this every day.
But a piece of Me went with You.
The day you went away.

Dad, you gave me your name. Your sense and moral compass in life. You taught respect and accountability for my actions. You instilled manners and discipline and integrity. You freely shared your experiences and knowledge and values to me and many others. It is a testimony to all who had the privilege of knowing you that your life works will live on. You exemplified what it means to be a Servant of Christ. I will forever be reminded of your dedication and commitment to helping others as l go around the place and meet the many people who you have touched. You will be a hard act to follow and you have left some mighty big shoes to fill!
You were separated on earth but reunited with your True Love again, Agnes.
