Gela (Nanny Gela) was one of the most thoughtful, considerate and genuine people you could be privileged to know.
Full of love and kindness, Gela always had a kind word for everyone she met and everyone who met her could not help but smile with her.
She often spoke fondly of her brother Barrie, known for his love of desserts and puddings!
Barrie had a dry with and with his wife Sybil visited Gela during her life at the Ridings retirement estate.
It was a privilege to have known Gela and enjoyed lunches with her most often at the Duke of Cumberland pub in Cottingham.
Gela lived her latter years at the Emmanuel House in Hessle and during visits to her she spoke of how well the staff looked after her.
Gela laughed at the jokes we shared, sometimes about something based around an incident that had occurred.
Gela is and will be missed, a pleasant thought is that she is now reunited with her brother.
With fond memories of Gela, such a lovely lady.
