MaureenPHILLIPSWife of the late Graham Phillips, Maureen Phillips sadly passed away peacefully on December 27 aged 86 at Hillview Care Home, Rawtenstall, with her loving son Jeremy, his fiancée Michele and several care staff by her side. She is survived by her son Jeremy, sister Pat and is pre-deceased by two sons, Kenvyn and Jason and her brother Gerald. Maureen lived almost her entire life in Cutler Lane, Stacksteads, before moving to Hillview Care Home in her latter years. After being educated at St Joseph’s RC School in Stacksteads, she undertook numerous jobs including working in factories, owning market stalls and a taxi company before spending her final working years alongside her sister Pat at Hargreaves & Crowther in Bacup. She enjoyed long walks with her dogs and tending her garden for which she won awards. In retirement she also enjoyed regular day trips with Graham and visiting her family. Her funeral will take place at St Peter’s RC Church, Turnpike, Rossendale on Friday, January 19 at 12.15pm followed by cremation at Burnley Crematorium. The wake is to be held at Station Brew, Bacup. In lieu of flowers, the family have asked for donations to the Stroke Association via Just Giving (Maureen PHILLIPS) or Knight & Boys Funeral Service, Stacksteads - 01706 879238. Finally, Jeremy and Michele would like to pay particular thanks to all the staff at Hillview Care Home for the love and care they gave to Maureen, especially in her final days.
