Other Animal Charities wee support, esp. for Dogs, Cats, & All Household & Domestic Pets, are The Woodside Animal Charity Shop, in the Wolseley Road, & Woodgreen Animal Trust. We donate & also purchase items, usually Christmas Cards etc., which feature Animals, notably Dogs, Cats, Horses, Donkeys, Sheep, Goats, Cattle, & smaller Wildlife, (eg. hedgehogs, badgers, moles, foxes, squirrels, rabbits etc.) All these animals must be loved & valued by someone! Every animal should be valued & protected by everyone!
Naturally, most people who are Pet-Owners are able to help support their Animal Sanctuary, for every Pet whose Owners pass away, or have, due to disability or old age, become unable to cope with their Pets' Care Needs. Other people are freely able to offer their own Help & Services to Woodside Animal Sanctuary, offering to Walk their Dogs, etc., as the Staff are always busy & their Dog-Charges must be walked, exercised & retrained to go on to other new caring homes & families. Many Pets are abandoned, simply because after their Owners pass on, if they had been living in isolated or rural areas, perhaps not many neighbours or locals would have been aware of the existence, still less the needs of a recently homeless, lonely, traumatised, & orphaned domestic pet. Not only Adult Dogs & Cats, but also young un-weaned Puppies & Kittens etc.
This calls for Everyone's Vigilance! John would undoubtedly have supported these special Charities, for at least one the parent dogs of Lucky herself, (& of John's Sister's Collie-Cross-Sheepdog, Half-Sister-Dog to Lucky, via their Mutual Mother-Dog), was originally a 'lost dog'... in fact, one that an Animal Shelter Charity had rescued. John had several dogs: including their Mother-Dog, whose litters included both 'daughter' dogs, the Collie, living at his Sister's home, & then The Dulux Dog, Lucky. Such a Lovely, Lovely, Lovely Dog! Rest In Peace, Dear John, & Be Happy in Heaven, with Our Dearly Beloved & Most Darling Dog, Lucky.

First & Last: we met Dearest Lucky sitting on John's Front Doorstep, on a long lead, so she could enjoy the fresh air. Whenever we went by, to the shop & back, she always looked up at us with those big deep soulful amber eyes, asking us, entreating us, imploring us, beseeching us, (&/or anyone & everyone else) to Take Her For A Walk, as what she truly needed was A Really Good Long Walk In The Park! So we did; & I always hoped that, when the time came when John himself could no longer look after her, or exercise her, early mornings or late evenings, he would allow her to come & live with us, & of course with the Proviso that (we would arrange) Lucky should visit him every day!!! John just wanted his Beloved Dog to be cared for, walked, groomed, & brushed, & all her Vetinary Needs covered. This would all have been arranged & agreed with John himself, beforehand, so he could be absolutely assured that every aspect of Lucky's keep & care would always be met, & covered by us!!!!
