Ethel MayOATES(née James) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ethel Oates, at University Hospital Wales on 28th May 2024, aged 86.

Ethel was the beloved wife of John, devoted mother to Serena and the very much adored Nanna of Mali, Lloyd and Elis. She was a cherished Aunty and Great Aunty.

A former member of Caerphilly Art Society and Caerphilly Scribes, Ethel will be dearly missed by her loving family and friends.

Resting in the care of Caerphilly Funeralcare until the Funeral Service at Senghenydd United Reform Church on Monday 8th July at 9.45am, followed by Interment at Penyrheol Cemetery. Immediate family flowers only.

Donations in memory of Ethel, who loved to write social history, gratefully received for the Aber Valley Heritage Group.
