StephenNICHOLLSAged 80 years, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Wednesday 2nd October 2019 at Wellfield Care Home, Accrington. Stephen, born in Oldham, worked for the Yorkshire Bank at the start of his working life and there he met his wife. He moved his young family to Rising Bridge in 1974 where he ran the Post Office with his wife Anne for many years. Stephen was a keen fly-fisher and loved going on fishing trips with his pals Stuart and Albert. He was also a member of Rising Bridge WMC where he enjoyed putting the world to right over a pint. Despite losing his sight, Stephen continued to work in the Post Office right up until his retirement which he spent keeping up with the news, following Oldham Athletic listening to sport and country music and reading talking books. Husband of the late Anne, father of Simon and Debra, father in law of Joanne and Roy and Grandad to Olivia, Finlay and Ciaran. Stephen will be sadly missed. Stephen's family would like to thank Nesta and her staff at Wellfield Care Home for their kindness and support over the last few weeks. Funeral Service will be held at Accrington Crematorium on Monday 14th October at 1.40pm conducted by Revd. Judith Balkwell.
