JacquelineMOWEROur hearts are broken and our lives will never be the same following the tragic death of Jackie who passed away peacefully at Dove House Hospice 22nd May 2026 after losing her battle with cancer.

Jackie was an extraordinary person, loving, kind, caring, empathetic and compassionate. To know her was a true pleasure.

Jackie asked little of others but always gave wholly of herself. To have her in our lives was a genuine joy; she was totally selfless, a true friend and confidante to many.

Having health challenges over the previous five years, Jackie showed a strength and determination that few could hope to aspire to. Her smile, humour and humility will be missed every day.

Survived by husband Ivor, daughters Carly and Jade, son Mathew and grandchildren Lucy, Molly and Autumn.

Jackie's funeral will be held at 13:30 at the Haltemprice Crematorium on Friday 26th June 2026. In line with her wishes, wear colourful clothes, and remember her with laughter and joy in your heart.

Family flowers only, donations received on the day will be distributed equally between Dove House Hospice and Pancreatic Cancer UK.

I still can’t believe you are no longer with us Jackie. A beautiful, gentle, funny, kind and sweet soul taken too soon.
I will always treasure the memories of our chats and time together at uni. You supported me after my surgery and vice versa. There was a special connection between us and I was heartbroken to hear that you had been so ill. Sending so much love to Ivor and your family. 💔

There are some people who come into your life and leave footprints on your heart forever. Jackie was one of those people.

We met at 18, starting our nursing journey together, and from that day a friendship began. She even stood beside me as my bridesmaid when I was 24.

So many happy memories come flooding back – laughter filled evenings, brunches in Raywell, shopping trips to Next, and our inevitable stop for afternoon treats in Hotel Chocolat. The ordinary moments that became extraordinary simply because they were shared with Jackie

She was kind, funny, loyal, caring and the sort of friend everyone hopes to find but few are lucky enough to have. And, without question, she made the best cheesecake in Yorkshire.

There are no words big enough for this loss. Just an ache that won’t go away, and overwhelming gratitude that I was blessed to call her my best friend.

Thank you, Jackie, for a lifetime of friendship, laughter, love and memories. You will be missed more than words can ever say, but loved and remembered every day.

Sleep peacefully, my beautiful friend ❤️

A true gem, the most thoughtful, caring and kind person/nurse you could ever meet. You were not just a work colleague but a friend. You were there to support me when I needed help to which I will always be grateful. Not only that you are the best baker in town - always bringing me mini cheesecakes in and not to mention the cakes/buns. You will be missed Jackie, thinking of Ivor and family too - NICKY xxxx
