Julian HenryMOTTPassed away on 3rd March 2026 at home in Shoreham-by-Sea. Beloved husband of Jane, much loved Dad of Nick and Lucy, Gramps to Artie and Jerry, brother of Robert and Andy. Teacher, author, councillor, footballer, cricketer, committed Burton Albion supporter, real ale enthusiast and friend to many.

The funeral will be on 30th March in Shoreham-by-Sea, and a memorial ceremony will be held later in Burton upon Trent, where his heart remained.

Family flowers only please, donations in his memory may be made to Parkinson's UK via his tribute site julianmott.muchloved.com, where details of his funeral may also be found.

I want to thank everyone who's added a tribute. It's been so moving to see how much Julian was loved. And also to say that a Civic Service in his memory will take place on Friday 12th June 2026 at 2.30pm in the Main Hall at the Town Hall, Burton upon Trent DE14 2EB. Anyone who knew him is welcome, and if you can let us know in the comments here if you are hoping to join us it would be very helpful to get an idea of numbers.

I remember him showing us all in maths to do the rubric cube, still cannot do it.
He was caring and helpful.

Dear Julian,

I will never forget the support and encouragement you gave me when I started my teaching career, thank you for everything you ever did for me. I am saddened to hear of your passing. Thinking of Jane, Nick, Lucy and family.
