George was a wonderful man and a pleasure to have known in my life. We sat near each other in the South West Upper when attending Boro games for about eight years and all my family loved him.

I take with me many great memories of the time we shared following our local team not only at the Riverside but at away days too. Where George could barely contain his nerves watching Boro cling on for a hard-fought win against Derby at Pride Park or us all in great company and chat in a Liverpool pub before visiting Anfield.

My condolences George's family.
