Margaret MaryMOFFATof Hazel Grove, Rawtenstall, passed away peacefully with her family by her side at
McAuley Mount Care Home, Padiham, on June 29, aged 96.
Born in Rawtenstall to John and Jane and sister to Jim, Margaret attended St Peter’s Primary School and remained in the valley her whole life.
Margaret loved spending time with her family, her beloved pets and socialising with her friends.
A dedicated parishioner of St James the Less Church, Rawtenstall, she enjoyed trips away and
attending social events in the church hall.
Mother to the late John Moffatt who died in 1999 aged 47 and Chris Moffatt who died in 2008 aged 50.
She leaves behind four grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, 10 nieces and nephews,
many other family members and lots of friends, whom will miss her very much.
A Requiem Mass will be held on Friday, July 18 at 11am at St James The Less RC Church,
conducted by Father Simon Stamp, followed by interment at Rawtenstall Cemetery at 12.30pm.
Family flowers only, donations to the British Heart Foundation and Cornerstones.
