AnnieMCNICHOLASMrs Annie Teresa McNicholas passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 2 in Burnley General Hospital after a short illness. A Requiem Mass will be held at St Mary’s and St Anselm’s RC Church, Bacup on Wednesday, February 23 at 11am, followed by interment in Bacup Cemetery at 12noon, conducted by Father Chris McGrane. Annie and her late husband John came to Bacup in 1951 from County Mayo in Ireland. She spent many years working as a cook at St Mary’s RC School, Bacup and also at J & J McLeries shoe factory in Bacup. Mother to the late Kathleen, she leaves behind her son John, daughter Mary, four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and two great, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and many friends.
