Only son of Stan and Rose Mckean of The Crescent, Bridgehill. Only brother to his 5 sisters, Clare, Christine, Yvonne, Jill and Ann. Nephew of Yvonne, Uncle to so many nephews and nieces!
John was above all a family man, loving and generous to all of us. His home had an ever-open door and always a laden table. This was important to him and his hospitality knew no bounds.
A Consett lad who travelled widely but loved his home town, the Derwent and surrounds, and enjoyed reminiscing about our childhood days.
Always a worker, a provider and reliable, a respected man.
His early passing leaves me so very sad, but in time this will change to feelings of gratitude, thankful for having John in my life as a brother, colleague and friend.

Never to be forgotten, always with me .
Big sister Clare
