Much loved Husband to Beryl and a wonderful Pa, Grandpa and Brother.

Bootle boy, Primary school Teacher, latterly Businessman. Always a story to tell and a story about him. His warmth & charisma will never be forgotten.

Love you always, your devoted children Jonathan & Dominic, daughters-in-law Sarah & Fran, grandchildren George & Sophie, sister Geraldine, brother David, grandogs Tembo and Gonzo, all extended family, friends and former pupils.

Funeral - 3:30pm Monday 2nd October 2023, Landican Crematorium, South Chapel, Wirral.

I'm a former pupil of Mr McGowan – 'Sir' – who sadly found out only recently of his passing. He was an outstanding, inspirational and charismatic teacher who instilled in me a love of stories and story telling (I went on to become a writer and sadly, although it occurred to me many times to contact him over the years and thank him, I never did.)
