Reading the tributes on this page is testimony to how you really did leave your mark I remember your kindness and smile and warmth so clearly and was devastated I could get back to Boro today to celebrate your amazing life …. But know that the kindness you showed me growing up was something I’ve NEVER forgotten.

Will always remember you looking out for us and mam, after dad passed, many years ago, you bought me my first pet, a tortoise. Only you!! Followed by 4, Guinea pigs,, and of course your boxes of biscuits, special memories. R.I.P. Sean, Caroline.

Grandpa, where do I begin? It seems almost impossible to write this as I can hardly believe you’re gone. I still feel as though you’re going to wake me up with your loud and sometimes annoying yet tuneful singing. Our memories together are something I will never let go of, our little inside jokes that only you and I thought were funny and the last moments we shared together in the hospital were truly so special to me. You sang with me one last time, you told me how lovely you thought I was (which you often did) and you told me you loved me for the last time. You’ve been a dad not only to Mama but to me as well, you’ve shown me all the ways a man should treat me and you’ve told me many times to accept nothing less. You and grandma were made for each other and I aspire to have a marriage like yours. Thank you for being so present in my life and for being the rock of our family. I am truly grateful to say I had such an amazing Grandpa like you- I’ll miss you so much but I feel very lucky to have had you in my life. Thank you for everything- Arabella xxx
