MichaelMCCLELLANMick Mcclellan aged 63 sadly passed away in his sleep Wednesday 27th August surrounded by his family.

Mick was a loving and extremely proud dad of Jodie, Katie, Jess, Scarlett & Isabel. Proud Grandad of Charlie, Ethan, Harry, Sophie and Alice. Loving brother to George, Paul & Jean.

He was the much loved husband of Jo for 20 years and was admired and loved by many. He was adventurous, brave, kind and always full of energy. We will all miss him dearly.

He had many great achievements in his life. He was a footballer, a sprinter, ran marathons, loved walking and the outdoors and above all loved cycling. He cycled Lands End to John O' Groats in 5 days and raised lots of money for various charities. He fought a massive fight against motor neurone disease for 14 years and did so with style. He will be missed and never ever forgotten and will be remembered as a legend!

Donations can be made to the MND Society as per Mick's wishes.

No funeral service will take place as Mick didn't want a fuss.

So very sad to hear of Mikes passing. He was an amazing inspirational man with a hilarious sense of humour. A massively positive influence on me growing up, and the source of my great love of live music of every kind. My love and condolences to all the family. x

Mick was a friend from my childhood a real character had some great times around the area we lived in mick always approached every thing head on I can remember has kids we went swimming he couldn’t swim but run and jumped in the 6ft the lifeguard had to pull him out but after a few weeks he could swim and this is how he approached life head on with relentless energy and the will to win unfortunately the disease that finally took him wasn’t winnable but what a fight he put up until the very end RIP old friend until we run again.

Where do you start for a great work mate and friend. Shocked would be an under statement to find Mick had passed away. I worked with Mick at Courtaulds for many years and played football with him for Courtaulds. Had some great times both at work and on the pitch. A true friend and a great athlete. To his wife and family so so sorry to to hear this i send you my condolences. Sleep tight my friend until we meet again on that pitch in the sky.
